BBA, MBA Scope in Pakistan (the truth!)

BBA, MBA Scope in Pakistan
Right so you are done with your easy peasy “botti wali” college life and now you are thinking about wasting some more years because to be honest, if you were "THAT SMART" you won’t be doing BBA or MBA 😜

THE BITTER REALITY OF PAKISTAN EDUCATION!
Cheating in exam in pakistan

Cheating in exam in pakistan

Just kidding so after getting some good grades!

You are now looking which career path to take or maybe you don't have many options 😉

Or maybe you are just a curious Mom/Dad; want to see if your son/daughter choice of BBA, MBA or your choice of BBA, MBA is a good one for your kid or not!

So without further ado let's get to the main topic!

Seven Reasons BBA, MBA has Tremendous Scope in Pakistan

Well when it comes to BBA, MBA scope, it all boils down to this “acchi tarah paro gay toh bht scope hey werna nuclear physics ka bhi koi scope nahi agr achi tarah nahi para toh”, so you got the point right ?!

Every subject, every knowledge domain has its scope, it all boils down to how much you learn it, excel in it!

Coming to scope, BBA, MBA has a lot!

Let me give you five solid reasons!

Reason One: CPEC

Since government sector is full of sh*t with no jobs and since our population bomb will explode anytime soon, the only sector that can reasonably afford and employ all these people is private sector (esp. SMB’s), which is getting better and with CPEC (China Pakistan Economic Corridor) there will be tons of new jobs (Over 2 million jobs will be created with CPEC in Pakistan) requiring professional degrees like BBA (Hons), MBA to manage the whole activity that comes with CPEC.

CPEC MAP

And one more thing CPEC will really help and expand small medium business sector in Pakistan further!

Do you know that china has invested $46 billion (46 arab dollars) in CPEC and (as writing of this article) one dollar equals to 140 Pakistani rupees!!!

CPEC LONG & SHORT ROUTE

Reason Two: SMB’s  Sector

Small Medium Businesses (SMB’s) constitute nearly 90% of all the enterprises (businesses) in Pakistan; employs 80% of the non-agricultural labor force [1], that means majority of all those graduates esp. Mba’s BBA’s are employed by SMB’s and that means BBA, MBA has tremendous scope in Pakistan!

Yes, in majority cases you get good pay from these SMB’s 😜

SMB can be defined as a Business or Enterprise with no more than 250 employees.

Reason Three: China!

Besides all that, China is an emerging super power, with huge SMB sector that creates 75% of new jobs every year and 68% of total exports! [2].

Superpower China

So imagine being neighbor of a super power, being its close natural ally and having CPEC, future is really bright for MBA’s, BBA’s.

Imagine Chinese super huge supply lines for middle east, gulf through Pakistan, remember middle east states are super rich that means a lot of trade through Pakistan, there will be tons of high paying jobs, even better days are coming guys!

To illustrate my point further, here is a video that explains how China is going to be next super power and how it's BRI projects like CPEC etc are changing nations fortune all over.

Reason Four: Your Own Business

If jobs doesn’t work out for you or you are doing a job after BBA, MBA but want something that makes you feel free, independent, want to launch your own brand, business, then BBA,MBA is the thing you should pursue as your career!

With china, CPEC, SMB’s sector of Pakistan; having your own business makes a lot more sense!

Btw if you want to launch your own business, brand but the thing is you are scared or having different fears, then this article is for you, I want to start a business but I am scared!, check it out!

Reason Five: Jobs in Middle East

Okay this might sound contradictory at first instant but it’s not, let me explain, if you don’t like working in Pakistan or you just want really big salary and instead of waiting for it here in Pakistan by building your career step by step, promotion by promotion that will take almost a decade, you want it happen fast then being BBA, MBA in the Middle East is the way to go!

Dubai Skyscrappers night

Gulf countries like UAE, KSA, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait etc have tremendous opportunities for professional degree holders like BBA (hons), MBA’s.

Reason Six: Jack of all trades Master of none!

Yep, you can fit in almost any type of organization, that’s the big advantage of being a business/management graduate (bba, mba), you can fit in any type of business, govt organization, NGO etc, so you always have ton more opportunities, greater scope than non business/management graduates!

Now let me emphasize my very first point one more time, if you don’t learn it the right way, don’t put real effort in your BBA, MBA then there is no scope for a mere degree in Pakistan!

Han degree toh degree hoti hey!” is just plain stupid! that guy is a moron!

So once you choose it as your career, make sure you put real effort in learning all the subjects, by real effort I mean TRYING TO LEARN 100%!!!

That means No all-nighters/Ratta/Naqal/boti/taveez in exams!

Reason 7: E-Commerce

Well well most of you must have heard about Sunny Ali, the e-commerce guru who is actually aiming at $10 billion yearly revenue in Pakistan from e-commerce sector in Pakistan. That billion $10 billion is 4 times what IMF gives to Pakistan to stabilize its foreign reserves, shrink its current account deficit.

Imagine 4 times of that coming to Pakistan in next 10 years all thanks to e-commerce!

Now e-commerce is something that you learn while doing BBA/MBA, some universities offer it as a specialization course like finance, marketing, hr etc.

Besides all these facts, use of internet is booming in Pakistan, as Alibaba puts it "As of January 2021, there were over 61 million Internet users in Pakistan.2 The number of Internet users increased by 11 million within the space of 2020 and 2021.

This consistent rise in the use of the net in Pakistan is astonishing. And these numbers show no sign of letting up. This obviously makes Pakistan a fertile ground for the growth and development of e-commerce."

It means in coming years not only local e-commerce sector is going to reach new heights in Pakistan but also non local which is what mainly being worked on by Sunny Ali.

Lastly let me give you potential salaries in minimum, maximum range for jobs you get through doing BBA, MBA, the salaries range varies due to grades/cgpa, institute from where one has done graduation, total years of experience, size of organization/firm, importance of the job to the organization/firm, individual level performance at a given job, capability, prior work experience, position held throughout career etc.

  1. After MBA a person can directly get the job of Regional Manager or Regional Director? or he/she get promotion to get that level?

    1. No, you can't directly, RM, RD jobs come with a lot of baggage, responsibilities, to be honest even if you ace in LUMS with A grades still you won't get it.

Every RM, RD comes via promotions, that he/she has been getting throughout his/her career though there is an exception, that is when one launches his own business and settle for nothing less than RM/RD or CEO ;-)

      Hope this helps!

  2. But BBAs and MBAs are just being mass produced in the job market, Isn't it degrading the scope of it?

    1. Both scope depends on what one actually achieves in both these domains, if you ace it in bscs, you will surely end up landing a good job at some big multinational and the same is true for bba, it all boils down to what you actually achieve, how you learn, what skills you add to your skills set.

    1. Agree, but nobody is going to pay you big if you are total novice, practical experience and level of that experience matters a lot in getting your desired salary.

On a side note, in my opinion, bba, mba shouldn't be about getting jobs rather be about creating jobs by becoming an entrepreneur, that way you will not only get to your desired monthly income but will also justly utilize the skills, knowledge gained in this domain, I mean that's what bba, mba means becoming a professional in business administration!

Now I have tons of business ideas here on this website that anyone can work on to launch their dream entrepreneurial career!

So do dig this site out!

      Cheers!

Wch one is bttr, wana do smethng diff frm teaching,

    1. Think about it this way, where you want to see yourself in next twenty years, a professor, teacher, scientist, chemist or an entrepreneur, business guru, having hot seat in some fmcg, multinational company.

If its the first one, then go for BS, if its the later one go for BBA, coming to suitability, well HR has its scope, Marketing has it likewise Finance and IT, so again you need to decide...

Just get through the articles I have already share here on all these different domains in bba, mba and then decide for yourself!

      Hope this helps,

      Regards

    1. Everything abroad has gone down the drain in 2020 due to covid so you are left with two reasonable choices imo, first starting your own business which may happen to be a bit more hard than the usual pre corona days but hopefully you will make or the best choice is, go for a job, phd, further education is as you know impossible due to covid 19....

  9. What should I do if I want a good job at some big multinational company?
    Is MBA right for this?

    1. Its not only an MBA would land you a good job at some MN, any degree that you ace with perfection will eventually land you a good job at some MN, for example if you do MA in urdu and ace it like nothing you can get job for instance in multinational news channels, papers etc. So its not like only an MBA would land you a job at MNC's, hope this helps!

    1. Hi Hina, good to have you here, well both fields have scope but when it comes to hard skills that can get you employed and get you well taken care of then software engineering is the thing you should jump into, while yes with bba you can get employed too but again here you start with soft skills plus experince (and both of these things don't come from having a degree rather investing time in market, with people in industry) pay may not be great initially unless you have done your bba from a prestigious institute, in the end like 10 years from now you would be in a great place, only if you keep on adding great things to your resume all along while in software engineering like for instance programmer.. you can have two streams of income like doing day job and then doing online job/freelancing etc but here technological obsolescence, AI, machine learning etc in my opinion pose a major risk to your career in the long run...

In fact no career is risk free, so just do whatever your desire to do...

    1. Hi there Anon, well to be honest there is a difference between wanting and desiring something, if you want to do bba than I would suggest to go for mbbs but if you are desiring to do bba to get in some multinational in the future or to start your own dream business, if that is your zeal, if that is what you desire and want to achieve by any means then in that case go for BBA; make sure you get it done from a reputable institute.

Hope this helps, thanks for stopping by! :-)
